Seldom a trickster charachter so good as Borat surfaces in the general public nowadays. Usually such characters stay totally underground or local or national (Finns could think of Velipuolikuu here). I think that Borat is the best thing in the history of mainstream western comedy right after Monty Python and South Park. Borat is not only hilariously antinomian for most of the public, but he is also challengingly multi-dimensional for viewers with an eye on sociology, psychology, politics, and lesser black magic.

If you are not yet familiar with Borat, I think you should start seeing him in action on dating or etiquette. Or maybe you would prefer to sing karaoke to his national anthem. Or maybe for the starters you really should just go and see the movie.
